Ty is an emerging artist living in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. His work has been shown in several DFW galleries and Atlanta, GA. His work has also been recognized in multiple publications including EcoTheo review, Art Nomad, and ArtForward. Ty Bishop grew up in Amarillo, TX and graduated 3rd in the painting program at the University of North Texas in 2015. He received the CVAD Student Project Award twice in row from UNT, and was awarded the Gamblin Merchandise Award from the Visual Art Center of Texas. With oil on canvas as his primary medium, Ty merges together past American aesthetic ideas stemming from the Hudson River School and Abstract Expressionism. Using modern technology, his paintings are based on local landscapes, but emphasize spontaneity and flattened forms of color.
